Forest Speyer is a character from the video game series, Resident Evil. He was part of S.T.A.R.S. (Special Tactics and Rescue Services [Squad in the original game])
Forest Speyer died on a balcony outside the Mansion in both the original Resident Evil, and the remake. In the original, he was wounded by monsters in the Mansion, and escaped to the balcony where he was finished off by crows. I'm sorry, but I refuse to believe that a person who was respected by his colleagues for his skill as a sniper, went out to the balcony, and instead of being aware of his surroundings, sat down, was viciously attacked by T-Virus infected crows, and died... It's stupid, and it makes NO sense. But then... it doesn't make sense either that Rebecca fought her way through a Tyrant alone in Resident Evil Zero, then was screaming about a Hunter in the remake... so who knows..? In the Remake of the original game, it is suspected that Forest was mortally wounded inside the Mansion, escaped to the balcony, and died there. If you notice, NONE of the characters say he was pecked to death this time... they just say there are deep wounds all over his body. Sure, that might imply crows... but again... this is Forest... Professional. Sniper. Doesn't happen. We can also deduce from the remake that Jill knew Forest, and Barry was probably fairly close to him, given his reaction to his death. Chris, also reacts pretty strongly to Forest's death, which tells us, that they haven't given up on their idea from the orgininal game, of Forest being Chris's good friend (and possibly rival).
Forest is seen with the rest of Bravo Team (for a few VERY brief moments), in the opening sequence of Resident Evil Zero. I guess the reason he didn't grab the clipboard from Rebecca is because he isn't a loudmouth like certain other people. Honestly, I was expecting just a tad more of Bravo Team from Resident Evil Zero, and I was pretty disappointed.
As far as I know, Forest doesn't have any reported girlfriend or wife, but then, they never really elaborated on the members of Bravo team. Personally, I believe Forest to be a rather quiet individual, someone who only speaks when he has something to say, worth saying. He does his job, and treats his teammates with respect, thus the reason they respect him for his professionalism. I believe that Forest was friends with several members of S.T.A.R.S. including Barry Burton, and especially Chris Redfield, who he had a friendly rivalry with, because they were both marksman, sort of... he also apparently knew Kevin Ryman, and was rivals with him, since Kevin, Chris, and Forest participated in Marksmanship competitions together. Personally, I was pretty upset when I found out that Rebecca would be the main character of Resident Evil Zero, alongside a new character, Billy Coen. Now, I love Billy... he's a great character, BUT... I really, REALLY think they should have used Enrico, Forest, or Richard as the main character... it would have made more sense. Okay, so I really think they should have used Forest... but I add Enrico and Richard because they rock too. : )
Amaranth is an imaginary, undying flower, or... an imaginary immortal flower, something that doesn't die. I really don't associate flowers with Forest, but it was the idea of immortality, that caused me to use the name. Forest is my favorite character from Resident Evil, and in my mind, he will live forever (as well as in all my fanfictions, if I ever write them.. ¬_¬).
